Title: Seaside Mobile

Medium: Sedge, Crab shell (partial), clam shell, Sand Dollar, black coral, fishing line

This was an exploration of force, movements, and balance - using all natural and foraged materials found from the coast. Representing a mechanical and physical balance of objects with a distribution of weight - while using non-standard and items from nature, required precise calculation while building a visually appealing mobile. Often as engineers, we look at projects from a scope of a problem - how do I create a perfect balance between these objects? But - we often end up creating further problems, dams that block Salmon runs, pollution and smog filling the air from mechanic revolutions, and roadways more congested than to allow the amount of cars and vehicles engineered to be able to smoothly pass through. In this project, I balanced nature, art, and the the science of physics, while working with what nature provided
